Liza and Vely Strange are sisters, stuck living in the desolate slums of the Moon Colony. They try to eke out a living selling scrap parts while their parents work in the soybean fields. After their father is killed in a scuffle with a local Enforcer, and their mother wastes away from an unknown sickness, the two girls are left to fend for themselves-- until Liza is tricked onto a pirate ship, leaving Vely behind on the Moon. While they are separated, LIza and Vely discover they share a bond that goes beyond blood-- they are a psychogenic Dyad, a link that balanced their powers since birth. Without the Dyad, their psychogenic powers are explosively revealed. While Liza is off learning to be a pirate, Vely incites a rebellion on the Moon, which seemed like a good idea at the time-- until the Enforcers decided to permanently squash the rebellion. Vely manages to escape with the help of a handsome stranger, and she jets off into outer space, landing herself on the Solar System Authority's Most Wanted list. Contending with other pirates and the brutal Solar System Authority, the sisters must try to find each other and restore their Dyad, or risk blowing everything to pieces with their untrained powers.
