The more recent generations (1800's) of the Bays family have settled in eastern Kentucky around the area of Greenup. However, they have had plantations in Virginia, survived devastating Native American attacks, been Captains aboard merchant vessels, and migrated over the decades to England from the French Champaign region. Originally the name in France was Basse then it changed over the years to Base and then to Bays. If you are a member of the Bays family this book is for you!
