A park in New York City welcomes visitors and neighborhood children every day, but it's also home to sinister operations and a strange man who sits near a tree in the park and never seems to leave. When ten-year-old John discovers a hidden message in the hole of the tree that simply states Hi John, it sends his life on a whirlwind trajectory forever. Prompted by uncertainty, John sets out on a journey that spans three continents and ultimately highlights what happens when injustice and loss meet love and determination.
