This book is written with the author as the voice of the woman narrator, imagining her journey in self-discovery through personal loss and ruinous relationships. In the face of life's challenges, she finds inner strength and courage and finally learns what it is to live with purpose as youth blossomed into the maturity of awakening adulthood. In her own words... So here I am, writing what I couldn't say before, in words guided by what force I don't know but now flow freely of their own will. Is it the fear that my journey is nearing its end and my traces on this earth are lost without a story to tell or is it my love for you compelling the words to come pouring out to share with you one last time, one final sublime conversation, and open my soul to you? I would like to think it is the latter, but it doesn't matter. The days spent in the glad company of the towering mountains with their glowing forests, was the beginning of spiritual renewal in me. Over the years, I discovered that hiking in solitude while listening inwards, over ever-changing terrain, varied and always beautiful, richly textured in different cloaks with the many moods and its rhythms; challenges the conventional, while soothing and rejuvenating the spirit. In the course of my hikes, I had the time to reflect and experience many different emotions, processing the hurt in my heart still raw from being denied the comfort of a family and my itinerant existence, without a sense of belonging to a place or people.
