At first, Lidia was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at 3 years old. Her parents took her to a specialist at that time.

This true life event is about a woman, Lidia, that, in spite of her life situation and health issues, had a remarkable zest for life; willing to fight to the end, never wanting to be put on hospice no matter what everyone was telling her.

This book is so clearly written that is brought tears to my eyes and sadness to my heart.

After Lidia's parents died, she was alone, in this world, confined to a nursing home at the mercy of her care givers. Her saving grace came to her when Susie arrived in her life. Although they had been neighbors for 20 years, because Lidia's parents kept her hidden from the outside world, Susie never knew Lidia existed.

Lidia was a true survivor. She would not feel sorry for herself. She decided early on she could do anything anybody could do(attitude is everything. Pick a good one). As Lidia health declined, she never complained or seemed to feel sorry for herself.

From the very beginning, you find yourself fighting for Lidia. This book is a reminder of the importance of looking out for the most vulnerable around us.
