The story starts in Cape Town, South Africa. Granger, a youngish widower, is confronted by a swarthy character representing a known international criminal group, who wants him to carry out some illegal geological duties outside Phalaborwa for him after threatening him with harm to his children if he refused. The story continues with a twist. The swarthy character is actually trying to steal a priceless treasure. At the same time other international thieves are trying to steal the treasure from him. There are other twists that are intertwined with these. Granger befriends several people along the way. With help from his new colleagues, they manage to gather most of the criminals, whose motives are not what they originally said, into the same place and do away with them. The others are arrested after this. He meets a very attractive woman who is working against crime and has a past that she does not want to share with him. After a long time, she reveals her secret and they're eventually married in the Western Cape. Drama does not leave them alone even at their wedding.
