-Captain William (Bill) J. Sullivan (aka Candy Man) is assigned to Osan Air Base, South Korea, in the summer of 1979. Remembering the 1950-1953 Korean War has never ended, Captain Sullivan knows that only a shaky truce exists between the two combatants along the DMZ line separating the communist north from a military dictatorship controlled south.-Tens of thousands died before the truce, and thousands more have died since the cease-fire began 26 years ago. Now the struggle intensifies as the South Korean President is assassinated, leaving a trail of blood within the ranks, a government shut-down, worker and student demonstrations demanding freedom with riots in the streets, and a giant opportunity for the North Koreans to invade the south.-It is the job of the Combined Forces Command to hold the line in the South. It is in this backdrop of war, that an American airman finds a beautiful young woman (ex-South Korean sergeant) aiding the south in the struggle. Love finds a way in the turmoil.
