This is my third book in the Hypatia Series, loosely based on the life of a brilliant and amazing woman who was a luminary in the Arts & Sciences. In this continuation of the story, Hypatia takes our children circa 2021 (or thenabouts) into the world of the future as it will likely be in 2050. Her library which existed in the 4th Century in Alexandria serves as a faux time machine transporting our kids through special doors into the future in key areas including space colonization and commercial development of asteroids, manufacture of androids which exhibit intelligence greater than us and are employed everywhere in the workplace, use of cloning to produce duplicates of our organs and selves capable of achieving immortality, invention of devices which can actually travel forward and backward in time, and what our environment will be like 29 years hence if global warming is for real. (It is). The companion adult essays in the appendix are a series of scientific, social, and philosophical works which augment the topics discussed with the kids. It is a compendium of the latest information mixed in with my predictions and insights based on decades of work as an IP and Technology attorney, entrepreneur, and writer. This book was written to present the big issues to Kids and bypass the usual stop to the frog workshop and rehash of jaded fairytales. I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did creating it.
