Shortly after birth, babies discover their fingers. As they grow older, they learn to use their fingers for eating, playing, drawing, and counting. Once children reach school age, they seem to be discouraged from using their fingers in math. Research shows that using our fingers in math actually raises math intelligence as well as confidence. In an effort to encourage the use of fingers in many areas of life, this book visits all the ways that fingers are used on a daily basis.
