The pristine and silent foothills of picturesque Boulder, Colorado, are lit up by crime scene lights, after the discovery of a murder victim, by a group of college students on a starlit, night hike. A newspaper reporter, named Teller and his nemesis, detective Kevin Sommers, compete to solve the inexplicable crime. From the Mesa Trail in Chautauqua Park to a spiritual retreat center on the Peak to Peak highway, they race to discover the victim's identity and who would want to murder a perfectly innocent woman.
