Durkin's Journey Tim McGee
Durkin's Journey
Tim McGee
Brian Durkin is having an unusual day. First, his girlfriend of five years leaves him for unspecified reasons that may involve his giving up on the relationship (she's French; her words are difficult to understand in the best of circumstances). Second, he's visited by his best friend, who tells Brian he's lost his way, and he should try to take control of his life (his best friend has been dead for nine months-so, there's that). Finally, to add insult to injury, he boards a trolley being driven by a woman with a death wish, which ends up careening toward a watery grave in the Intracoastal Waterway. And this is only the first day of his story.
Durkin's Journey is a novel about Brian's attempt to regain control of his life while straddling two completely different worlds. He's a corporate executive spending his days attempting to survive in a cutthroat consulting business, who happens to live in a beach community full of unique characters, many of whom will significantly impact his journey.
