People from all over the world travel to see or participate in the Battle of the Roses at Tewkesbury as it is the largest medieval performance in England. On May 4, 1471, the Battle of Tewkesbury took place in the English county of Gloucestershire. It was at the end of the War of the Roses and temporarily ended the hopes of the House of Lancaster to regain the throne of England. A 14-year peace followed, but another political coup broke out at the hands of Henry Tudor, who finally settled the dispute between the two dynasties.
