Koalas are not bears, they belong to the marsupials whose offspring are born immature and develop in the protection of the pouch. The cute little animals were once common in Australia, but were hunted for their fur and nearly exterminated. Today, the koala, which sleeps up to twenty hours of the day, is the most common symbol of Australia, along with the kangaroo. This successful calendar was re-released this year with the same images and updated calendar.
