Hong Kong swordfighting action, from acclaimed director Tsui Hark. In the 1600s, the Manchurians have taken over China and established their own brutal dynasty, banning the practice of martial arts. As the evil Manchu general Wind Fire (Honglei Sun) ravages the land, a group of expert swordmen, including the deadly Yang Yun Chong (Leon Lai) decide to defend one of the last untouched villages in the land.

But as they lead the villagers to safety, the swordsmen begin to suspect that one of their number might be a spy, working for the Manchus.
