Terence Fisher directs this 1950s drama starring Pat O'Brien, Lois Maxwell and Tommy Steele. When newspaper reporter Crosbie (O'Brien) gets fired for drinking on the job, his life rapidly spirals out of control. After his wife leaves him and reveals that his son is going to need an expensive operation, Crosbie decides to ask for his old job back.
When he walks in to his former office he discovers the body of his ex-editor. Murdered newspaper editor - could this be the story of his life?
