Collection of classic British crime dramas. In 'Who Killed the Cat' (1966) a devious widow knows no bounds as she intimidates three elderly women. In 'I Met a Murderer' (1939) a marriage breaks down to such an extent that the husband finds himself on the run from the police.

In 'Dangerous Ground' (1934) a criminal mastermind is pursued by two insurance detectives as they collaborate with the police in order to bring him to justice. In 'Kill Her Gently' (1957) two prison convicts escape and are given refuge by a member of the public, Jeff Martin (Griffith Jones). However, when Jeff discovers that they are wanted men, rather than turn them into the police he uses them to settle a domestic situation.

In 'Smokescreen' (1964) the apparent suicide of a prominent businessman in Brighton leads to an investigation that becomes less simple than first anticipated. In 'Police Dog' (1955) PC Frank Mason (Tim Turner) begins to train a stray Alsatian dog. However, when his colleague is killed Mason becomes determined to bring the perpetrator to justice, with his canine assistant proving pivotal in seeing that justice is served.

In 'One Man, One Dog' (1971) the film explores the relationship between police dogs and their handlers in London in the 1970s. In 'The 20 Questions Murder Mystery' (1950) an audacious criminal gets in touch with the BBC and publicly airs four clues before committing a murder. In 'The Hi-Jackers' (1963) a truck driver, Terry (Anthony Booth), offers a lift to a young woman, Shirley (Jacqueline Ellis).

However, when his transport, including the cargo of whisky, is hi-jacked Terry wonders about Shirley's motives. Finally, in 'Bond of Fear' (1956) a family holiday to France goes awry when an escaped convict kidnaps them.
