To mark the 20th anniversary of the death of Alexandre Lagoya and what would also have been the 90th anniversary of his birth, Decca Records France presents for the first time all of his solo recordings and with Presti for Philips and RCA, brought together a box of 10cd including many unpublished cd.

Alexandre Lagoya is recognized as one of the best French guitarists of the 20th century. His style of clarity, elegance and virtuosity has been an important stone in the history of guitar performance. His musicality is closely linked to that of Ida Presti, incomparable prodigy of the guitar, with which he formed an impressive duo with an international reputation. Indeed, the two giants of the guitar have left valuable records for both labels, reflecting the incredible diversity and richness of the repertoire. They toured the Renaissance (Mudarra, Dowland), Baroque (Bach, Scarlatti, Haendel, Marcello, Vivaldi), classicism (Diabelli, Sor), romanticism (Schubert, Tarrega), the 19th century (Albéniz, Granados) and the 20th (Moreno Torroba, Villa-Lobos, Rodrigo), enriching the repertoire of classical guitar many transcriptions and commands to contemporary composers, but also their own compositions.
