In 2023, we celebrate the 40th anniversary of both the film and soundtrack for "Yentl." This iconic movie not only showcased Barbra Streisand's talents on screen but also revealed her exceptional skills as a director. Recognizing her brilliance behind the camera, she was honored with two Golden Globe awards, one for Best Motion Picture Musical and a groundbreaking win for Best Director, making her the first woman ever to clinch this prestigious award.

The commemorative edition of the "Yentl" soundtrack is spread over two discs. The first disc brings to life the original melodies from the movie. On the second disc, listeners are treated to 15 unique demo tracks, which Barbra initially recorded in the cozy confines of her living room using a stereo cassette deck. These tracks, essential to the film's creation, showcase a raw and intimate session with just Barbra's voice and Michel Legrand's masterful piano accompaniment.
