Frozen in Anticipation Tom O'connor

Tom O'Connor is quickly emerging as one of the Washington, DC, area's top singer/songwriters, with a sound that music critics have described as "pop-folk at it's smoothest" and "reminiscent of Eric Clapton's later solo work." Following the successful 2008 release of Tom's debut album, "Frozen in Anticipation," On Tap Magazine proclaimed, "O'Connor's vocals are beautiful, and at times, swooning laments that melt into fluid strumming and quivering string arrangements." The record's first single, "Virginia Rain," received airplay on Washington, DC's leading rock station, DC101, and an alternate version of the song is slated to be used as the title track for an upcoming independent film. Based in Northern Virginia, Tom, a 27-year-old Binghamton, NY, native, has performed to rave reviews from New England to the Carolinas, and has attracted a national following, playing shows in California and Arizona. Though he most often performs as a solo acoustic artist, Tom is occasionally joined by several prominent DC-area musicians, including drummer Andy Hamburger, bass guitarist Scott Harlan and lead guitarist Dan Leonard, all of whom backed him on "Frozen in Anticipation." Tom recently completed work on his second album, 'Heart, Body & Soul,' which features just his voice and an acoustic guitar. Critics have lauded the "simple guitar plucking [and] southern folk vocals" which he is known for during his stage performances, and his sophomore release is intended to afford listeners the feel and intimacy of his live shows.
