Formed in the early 1970s, The Residents have been charting a unique path through the musical landscape for almost fifty years. From far-out, experimental recordings to highly conceptual, innovative multi-platform projects, the band refuses to stand still, and continues to move in several different directions at once.

Released on CD for the first time, this set captures the groups earliest work two legendary album length demo tapes and three live recordings made under the direction of their mentor, The Mysterious N. Senada, between the Springs of 1971 and 1972. Packed with non-songs, poetry, mutant cover versions, sonic experiments and ambitious suites, The W***** B*** Album and B.S. set the groundwork for all that was to follow in the studio, whilst the three live recordings show the group then a large, rambling collective rather than anything resembling a band exploring the live-show-as-performance-art space they continue to inhabit to this day. This is must-hear material for both fans of The Residents and those interested in post-hippy, pre-punk DIY avant-garde experimentalism.

Remastered, expanded, and pREServed for future generations this is The Residents as weve always wanted to hear them, and the latest in a series of archival reissues that will continue throughout 2020 and beyond.
