Valldemossa, Justin Martin Remix Pezzner
Valldemossa, Justin Martin Remix
Pezzner
Pezzner is back with this, his third EP for Freerange, following on from the Almost Here and Other Lover releases that kicked off his solo alter ego. He is now in demand for his remix skills with upcoming remixes including Mike Monday and Mark Farina for Om, Lusine for Ghostly International and Josh Wink for Shaboom. It's easy to hear why he is being heralded as the man to rival Dave Taylor's earlier house productions with his totally unique sound and floor friendly arrangements which guarantee peaktime plays from DJ's across the board. On Valldemossa we're treated to a bumpy but rolling little number with wobbling pads, breathy flute samples and a huge stab breakdown which goes on far too long in theory but works wonders in practice. Next up we have the original of Brooklyn New York which sees Pezzner go uber deep and trippy with a beautifully crafted track laden with all manner of haunting string and pad samples. Check out the outro on the exclusive digital edit for 3 minutes of the finest ambience this side of Eno. Finally we're treated to a very special Justin Martin remix of Brooklyn New York where he jacks it all up to fever pitch for a full on funk fuelled bass heavy monster that looks set to be a big one with those who like their house seriously energized.
