'Attribute One' contains three tracks featuring the familiar Time To Express sound: rolling, spacious and with more than just a hint at dark and sweaty venues. The title track sees Peter Van Hoesen applying his trademark bass grooves in a slightly more melodic way than on previous releases. The track slowly develops into a spacious, dubbed-out version of contemporary techno. There is still ample room for the darkness to creep around, but somehow the Brussels' producer lifts it up into a lighter vibe. On remix duty we find Manchester's finest MLZ, responsible for several brilliant releases on Modern Love, both under his own name and as part of the illustrious Pendle Coven duo. MLZ catapults 'Attribute One' straight into a future gritty Manchester warehouse where the beats are tough as nails and the punters can't get enough of whatever it is they're having. Subterranean bass frequencies team up with swirling noise and relentless percussion, warping the track into an acid-flavoured killer tune. Amen. Finally Peter rounds of the proceedings with 'Above 90', a dark and minimal smasher.
