Publisher Marketing: In her first book of fiction, Nannie Maude Reynolds writes about her Great, Great, Great Grandfather who walked from Pa.to Ms. in his quest for love and fortune. Henry DeWeese, who is the focus of the story, was born just after the Revolutionary War. He heard stories of fortunes, adventure, beautiful women, Slow flowing streams and beautiful land in the South. He wanted to see these things for himself. He began his search at the tender age of 17 years. This story goes with him as he experiences many difficult trials and many beautiful moments as he finds the adventures, beautiful women, flowing streams, beautiful land and some fortune. The story must needs be fiction due to the lack of documentation available in that era and circumstance. Readers will be caught up in the love story of the man and woman and their struggles to make their dreams come true. The story is one of faith, love, struggle, commitment, and accomplishment. Many of the tales in this book are handed down from generation to generation and many are figments of a very active imagination. There are facts imbedded in the story but embellishment was required to make the story readable. Some of the characters are real. The towns and churches are real. The DeWeese School really existed but we do not know how much influence Henry DeWeese had in founding it, if any, There is evidence that there was a community that existed by that same name in Rankin County, MS.
