That's because she has the same secret. They both possess the magic of the elements, at least some of them, and have managed to stay under the radar. Until Jr. Year, when they get a new roommate, Jaxa, and everything changes. Suddenly they find that their world is full of demons they never noticed, and the people they've known for years aren't what they seem. But, that's not all. Zo finds out that she's being hunted for her magic and power. Hers is unusual. Zo and D also discover that Jaxa didn't come alone. A mysterious being known as a Watcher came with her. Although his magic does strange things to her, Zo's more worried about the demons, specifically one known as a Krag. Believing he's here to protect her, Zo gets closer to the Watcher as more demons reveal themselves. When a handsome new boy pops up in one of Zo's classes, she finds her attention being pulled from the Watcher, and slowly her mind starts to break. Jaxa and D try to warn her that there's some thing 'off' about Bleak, but she doesn't listen. By the tine she realizes what's happening, her mind and will are almost completely broken down. The once sure, confident Zo doubts everything, even her magic. She knows only one thing for sure, someone wants her dead. The question is this, who should she really be afraid of; the Krag, who sends its minions to kidnap her; her boyfriend, who clouds her mind; or the Watcher, who captured her heart? Contributor Bio:  C, Ladee Ladee C was raised in a military family and was exposed to a variety of cultures at an early age. She began writing while still in grade school, and in addition to "The Chronicles of Carina Star", she is the author of the Soul Mate series, the Dragon Blood series, the Watcher series, and the Dark Water series. A graduate of Nunez Community College in Chalmette, Louisiana, she has worked in the medical field as an EMT for twelve years. She currently lives in Gretna, Louisiana, with her husband and four children.
