Hunt's life as a U. S. Marshal doesn't get any easier. Beth goes into labor and has a difficult birth. Hunt is advised that she appears to have some internal damage and recommends they have no more children. Hunt receives a telegram from Jewels advising him that his men tracked a gang of three men to Utah and appear to be headed south into Utah. Hunt sends his men on a mission to cut them off but finds they're too late. Hunt receives an alarming message from Buzz Sauer. A religious group have invaded Hidden Valley and have run Buzz Sauer and George's family off the ranch. Hunt and the men ride to Hidden Valley and find his friend Dodd in a gun battle. The confrontation ends with Hunt having to kill one of the men, and the leaders of the religious group claim to be Jesus and Moses. After questioning the prisoners, Hunt learns that more are on their way. Clayton leads a group to Coulson, located in Montana Territory. A man is killed every day in Coulson, and when they arrive, they find the whole town is against them. Clayton meets a woman that he has feelings for but refuses to admit it. He is afraid of where it may lead.
