Inside the Circle Sebastian Costard
Inside the Circle
Sebastian Costard
A sequel to The Broken Circle, Inside the Circle is fiction that embraces recent history and current events. The manuscript was written a decade, ago, before some of the ghastly events of present day terrorism and predicted the major players. JP, a central figure in the tale, is a self-effacing scientist with a brilliant mind. His own naïveté and the contrivances of others lure him away from being a humble teacher of Physics 101 to freshmen at a state university in New Mexico to The Texas Institute for Theoretical Physics. His life's companion, Lise, is his mirror image in many ways. An historian with stellar talent, she is everything that he is not when it comes to deciphering the intentions of others, especially a warped generation of fanatics, all because of her long study of the calamities that enveloped Europe and the Middle East at one time or another from the rise of Christianity to modern times. The author exercises considerable license with the historical events and has manipulated them at his discretion to fit his story line. Costard expresses a conservative view of religious fascism, perhaps offensive to some without apology, drawing sharp contrast between the lunatic fringe and established traditions.
