This is where the rubber meets the road. Hosanna finally overcomes the phantom, meets the master within, and is taken into the heavens where he receive "The Great Commission" from his Kristos. He returns to the Black Abyss and to New Sky on his God-given mission to liberate these populations, which had wronged him so acutely, he was assumed dead. Yet even as a Perfected crow, there are still lessons to be learned, confessions to be made, karma to make straight, and a disarming love that makes the heart quiver. "The third novel in The Corvidian Trilogy, Victory, is deep and rich and thought provoking and intelligent and edgy and requiring of consciousness. It reminded me on more than one occasion of St. Augustine and his City of God, particularly when the crow was taken into the heavens and the hierarchy of the angels was described. I must say that coming from the tradition of plot and character, I missed having an antagonist. At the same time, I was aware that Victory is a very unusual and very unique piece of literature. The parallel realities because it never stops being theological, have a double edge to it. One can easily debate whether or not this is a philosophic document or a piece of literature. The Corvidian Trilogy is about a soul's awakening to the depth of its true wisdom. It dips back into self-awakening repeatedly until the crow is fully reborn. The onion skin got peeled again and again and again. The fire of all is the fire of each. And it's only in the uncovering of the fire that we are consumed by the all and somehow the ego is burned away. That's the thematic quality of this thing, particularly when the crow goes back to bring the message to the pit. It's also very old testament that way. When I read it, I thought to myself, "This is a book I would want to make sure was in the time-capsule. You can only have a few things in the time capsule. I would like them to have this because then, they would know what we're about." The book articulates the inarticulate quality of us all. And gave me some unbelievably vivid imagery. I saw the brightness in the crow's eyes; the meanness of the bad guys and the wisdom of the good guys; the brilliance of the journey, and the rays, and the transformative movements. I found it very captivating." Joseph L. Gunnels Lover of God
