Mount Vernon Detective, Early Moon, and his girlfriend simply want two, easy-to-ride horses. But the effort leads to suspicious auctions and horses marked for slaughter. As Moon investigates, he finds himself and his town embroiled in a series of hideous murders in addition to conspiring county commissioners looking to get rich at the county's expense. A rookie detective hired to work at his side, is preoccupied with an ugly, alternative agenda that doesn't include solving crimes, but may lead to directly killing Moon.
