Five Cubs of Kingdom Come is a story based on the true events surrounding a mother bear and her five cubs which were born in Kingdom Come State Park in Cumberland, Kentucky. Kingdom Come boasts the highest elevation of any of Kentucky's State Parks. The arrival of the bear family which could often be seen walking through open spaces in the park drew attention from local residents and park visitors from across the state. The events in the first half of the book a written in a style for primary and elementary students. The second half of the book is devoted to black bear facts and black bear safety rules. The many photos of black bears in the book include those taken by local photographers of the real mother and her five cubs as well as other black bear in the immediate area. This is a book for all ages who enjoy nature and wildlife.
