Biblical Prayer Bob Peters
Biblical Prayer
Bob Peters
Everyone prays or has prayed in some way or another. Usually people pray when they are in trouble. Not all pray to the God of the Bible through Jesus Christ. Some people pray to false gods. The prophets of Baal during the great contest set up by Elijah, prayed, shouted and cut themselves with knives trying to get Baal's attention. He never answered because he was only a figment of their imaginations. When Joseph Stalin was a young man and considering becoming a priest he prayed, but then he quit while trying to be true to his new religion called atheism. It is said there are no atheist in foxholes. When life gets very rough people cry out for help from someone much bigger than they are. The Bible says twice that "every knee will bow" and says once "every knee should bow" before Jesus. Everyone should pray everyday and everyone will pray someday. We don't pray because we are too proud to ask God for help, or we don't care enough about others in need or we are distracted and lose our concentration. No one ever prayed perfectly except Jesus. This book assumes that we can learn to pray better and receive many more answers if we study the prayers of people in the Bible. It is the study of 53 different prayers.
