The outcome of this investigative study is expected to have tremendous ecological and applied significance in the sense that the knowledge derived from this study will be helpful to elucidate further various features involved in the silkworm rearing which will fit in well in the commercial production of silk in Tarai belt of Uttar Pradesh and else-where in India. The present investigation is important and interesting from academic as well as economic point of view. A part from adding to our ecological knowledge of insect development and growth, it may also help to device suitable rearing programme of multivoltine mulberry silkworm in varying ecological conditions to increase the production of silk and generate more employment opportunities
