Sleep does represent a good indicator of health. Almost every disease can influence it. There are many different types of sleep disorders. When a sleep problem is just a nonspecific symptom among so many others, the treatment of the etiology can help to solve it very quickly, like in cases of benign pains, fever, stress, anxiety, but when is the main issue, then it becomes a problem itself. Insomnia is more frequently encountered than hypersomnia in general practice. The purpose of this book is to report and study very rare cases of both insomnia and hypersomnia, and to expose their consequences on the mental contents of the patients, like perceptions of time, colors, life, and also on the cognitive activities. In clinical sleep medicine like in all the others specialities, knowing very well the most common diseases is extremely important and required, but we also do think that atypical cases do represent the future in terms of research, and which makes of this book a must for all somnology lovers.
