This play redefines the nature of family; and emphasizes the importance of friendship. Harper and Ms. Mable seem like the most unlikely pair to strike up a friendship due to their complicated past and striking differences. Yet, as their relationship evolves they come to a place where they have to come face-to-face with themselves. As they embrace hardships of their past, they learn to release past hurts and find the humor they once had lost.
