The story that begins this collection of short fiction pieces is not true. Well, it is not entirely untrue. It was written after the loss of a dear friend, to whom it is dedicated. The sentiments expressed there are also, to some degree, present in the other stories offered here. They were written in somewhat the same melancholy mood. But let that not deter you. For great loss, there must have been great love first, that expands and fills the heart and then breaks the very thing it filled, leaving a hole that may never be fixed.
