The Fever Chronicles S S Engle
The Fever Chronicles
S S Engle
Society can only sustain disruption to the norm for so long. Eventually the status quo needs to be reestablished, and people need to be let go to get back to their lives. As a means of trying to get a handle on the Millennial fever and its deathly consequences, Vice President Prescott's Task Force has released the prisoner population out into the general public. Civilian violence is on the rise, despite the support of the supposed freed up police force that was intended to maintain order. With such a giant public misstep, the conservatives have lost crucial ground, but with the elections canceled the liberals will be forced to implement their changes in another way. Steps need to be taken before society crosses the point of no return. As if the ghettoes for the Millennials weren't bad enough, now the government is building organized internment camps for them, and their supporters. It is President Walter G. Upham's desire to crush the Millennials by crushing their support system among the other age groups. In the meantime, the practice of eminent domain is seizing up public and private properties left and right and turning them into emergency triage centers for fever victims. Can there still be a way to make sense of all this chaos?
